But I also wanted to say I think you will love the car. The e36 is good at a lot of things, but when you get it out on track it really shines. It's like the car goes "thank you for bringing me home!" and then rips off.
Driving back, I will post a little more when I can.
Car is nicer than I hoped, guy selling it was genuinely sad to see it go.
Looked it over, did a test drive, made the deal. Loading it was kind of a pain as low as it sits.
The seller stood outside and watched the car leave... I think he was pretty stoked it was going to a good home
Stopped for coffee and to check out the tie downs. Ended up talking to a random person about the car for a few minutes. Turns out his buddy tracks an e36 m3 coupe...
So you didn't tell the seller about how you are planning to gut it, spray paint it flat black with patches ground down to bare metal to give it some 'patina', sawzall the wheel openings for clearance behind a set of bolt-on fender flares, and turn it into a stanced drift car?
I'll hijack the thread a little. How well does an Armada tow? Nice BMW,too.

My only question is, why'd you tow it? Does it have some mechanical issues that prevent it from being driven home?
I drove with a friend to San Diego last Saturday and picked up a broken 540i/6 which I fixed on the street and then drove home 350 miles. What's a trip without a little danger?

In my world it’s way easier to hook up the trailer and fly solo than find a friend who can go on an overnight trip to get a car on a weekday. I’ve about burned all those bridges.

Fair enough. I guess I'm fortunate to have a self-employed friend who likes car adventures and can drop everything to come get a car with me.
Man, I wish my holiday gifts looked like this...

Pat's comments ring true for me too. I have a car waiting for me to buy 3 hours away. It's rwd so I would rather not tow dolly. It is heavy so I would rather not tow it back home with my Montero. That leaves me with borrowing a friend real truck and renting a Uhaul trailer which is still probably easier than finding someone to drive down and back with me,

Even 2 days after the actual auction, not even I was sure of this answer.
Turns out to be just one '07 Focus ZX5.
A well kept 120k mile example to was "totaled" due to a rear hit. No body damage other than lots of scrapping to the rear plastic bumper and a broken, temporarily repaired muffler hanger. Otherwise, the muffler sounds/operates fine. I should have less than $1k into this, complete, and hope to sell for $2.5k
97 or 98? That is one of my want to own someday cars.
Made it home without issue. My family was in my neighbors hot tub when I arrived. I joined them vs posting updates...
I will start a build thread tomorrow.

Congrats! Looks like a clean- unmolested car. Harder and harder to find these days!
The sedans have really grown on me over the years.
I almost prefer them over a coupe. Now I want one......
