So how do you go from 53,000 rpm to a standard rear gear. Guess it just depends how well the coupling in the turbine works. May be a dog out of the hole, but whatch out once its running. Maybe it will be a better lake car than a track car.

Gear reduction translates to torque and at 50,000 plus rpm you would be reducing it by a lot and upping the torque a bunch I would think. Does anyone know how fast a Jet engine spools up?

Looks like an Allison 250 like you see in Bell 206 helos and Bonanzas converted to turboprop power.

So is the gearbox output just connected to a regular car transmission? These things usually operate in a pretty small RPM range. I can't remember if these are a split shaft like a PT6, but I'm sure Appleseed and the other pilots will know.

The thread says it's just direct drive, but I've not gotten far into it.

Do you even get throttle control with something like this?
