You're probably right, and I'm a luddite, but I still don't see how having a computer control the heat is a good thing. Cables rarely break and do the job just fine. At the end of the day I suppose I don't really care how it works, but I want it to work, period.
Just got caught up on this.. went back and reread my first post.. not gonna say anything more about that. 
I think you should give up feeling like you shouldn't hate this truck and just get something you don't have latent resentment towards. I know it's a practical vehicle but your various mentions of it make it seem like it's mostly dragging your mood down.
