Sad news- https://www.espn.com/racing/story/_/id/32835497/al-unser-sr-four-winner-indianapolis-500-dies-82
Sad, but if you can survive top open wheel racing in the 60's and live until 82 then you've had a life well lived, and that's without considering four Indy wins, 39 race wins, 97 podiums and three championships plus being part of both the only father and son to both win Indy, AND the only brothers to both win Indy. A sad day for motorsport and a legendary family. Rest in peace sir, rest in well deserved peace.
RIP
I remember him saying that he always used each session of a race weekend as building block to the race itself; while that may seem obvious no one else ever said that. I liked that philosophy and have try to use it for my race weekends.
