So, its the end of November in Cincinnati, and that means 2 things - only a little over 10 months until the next Oktoberfest and its wonderous brew selections, and the weather is abominable. I am looking for some reasonable all weather meats that arent deplorable in the snow and are decent on dry pavement. I have a slightly modified 95 Corolla ( I know, I know...but hey, I own it outright and the damn thing just keeps starting. What do ya want me to do?). Basically, its my commuter and I need some new rubber. I take the back roads to work because soutwest Ohio has some fun twisties, so I want to look at reasonable performers that dont scare my wallet. Any suggestions?
I was looking for somethinge to eat. Guess not.

Timely post, Fury. I too am looking for the same tire for my Focus appliance, so I'll be waiting with baited breath for some responses here.
I've had Hankook Mileage Plus on a couple cars including my Escort now and they have worked great in the white stuff and dry both. They sell them at Pep Boys only and they are pretty reasonable.

I've been using the Nokian WR on one of my cars for a year now - it does well in the snow and holds up fine over the summer.
I run Kelly Navigator Golds on my DD's. 70K wear and good bite in the snow.
It's a mix of snow and rain here in West Michigan today. traction control was off & My 250hp fwd Aurora didn't slide at all.
Until, I hit the foot brake and cranked the wheel in the 3" of fresh slush of the local parking lot 
Here in Northern Ohio I just bought some Michelins Primacy's w/ 60k of all season tread at Costco for my Volvo 850. They were/are running $80 off a set of 4. I like what they had to say about them in the reviews section of www.tirerack.com.
Kumho ASX are cheap and very competent in the dry stuff. Never tried them in the snow myself, but I've seen them autocross far better than they should.
I run the Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S on the appliance mobile, but I have no idea how they do in snow. They're ok in the dry and great in the monsoons we get around here.
They're a bit spendy, but they do have the Michelin man on them, which impresses my 3yo.
