Aluminum Block and Head?

Besides Alfas, what other small engines have an aluminum block and head? (Bonus points for engines with cross flow heads).

I don't think the LS1 is that small. A 1uzfe is all aluminum with 6 bolt mains (4 stud 2 bolt supposedly) and physically much smaller

BMW M54 and M60-series, and some other more modern ones, I'm sure.

Saturn LL0 (S-series DOHC) one of the lightest engines out there.

I would like to build a hybrid BMW motor using a aluminium M52 block from a Z3. The BMW I-6s aren't small though.

Olds 215 ... had one in a corvair.. 320 #'s complete.

The latest BMW I-6s (N52) are magnesium blocks with aluminum sleeves.

Semi modern version comes in recent Land Rovers.

Quad 4, Ecotech, and pretty much every other 4 cylinder that has been engineered in the last 25 years.

too bad no one makes and aluminum block/iron head engine like those awesome old Vega engines..

I'm not sure my wallet even wants to know that this might have been possible. I do know that some of the 2zzge parts cross over roughly to the 4age. Not sure if anyone has managed to put the zz engine in a longitudinal rwd setup though.

Quad 4 was an iron block.

How small is small? Mazda K8 1.8, KLZE 2.5.

I'm not sure if the EA series engines were aluminum...

Well if one wishes to go down that path, a lot of engines can have and aluminum block.
