Those Nakamae units don't take full advantage of the tunnel top, though. They raise it to match the front of the stock center console. More like this.

I like teh barchetta shorty console.
sand/polish/clearcoat your shift lever and it looks excellent. this ones painted black however.
They look like Nakamae seats
And yes, they are very expensive. From what I found they are around $800 each in vinyl or $1200 each in leather, then they must be shipped from Japan.

I think I helped install one of those in a Miata.
...
Nope, it was a different one. We had to narrow the seat.
I've always wanted to put a set of classic 911 seats in a Miata, there are some super-tasty ones out there. I did do a 914 seat install last year that was pretty easy.
keith that looks like the baja seat on corbeaus website, looks pretty good in the miata.
i found a few pics of the classics. http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=52911 guy complains they sit too high, but I felt the same way with my corbeau forza seat with the corbeau slider rail, you sit just as high as the stock seat, not any lower.
Corbeaus sit tall in my experience. Nothing that can't be altered with some effort, but if you need a bolt-in setup it's a hassle.
I fab'd an aluminum dash for my race car. I made a video showing some of how I went about making it. maybe it will helpful if you do decide to go for the alum. dash....

This is a total zombie thread, but it came up in another discussion and I came across the Corbeau Classic seat discussion.
Since they were last discussed, we picked up a set to use in a different car. And shipped them right back. You sit VERY high, they offer no lateral support and aren't actually comfortable. They might look cool, but they're not good seats.
They sat high in the 320i, too (GTS II's I think...), but I modded the mounting and they were ok (80-83 cars had "offset" mounting heights side to side... worked perfect for me).
They used cheap flat stock for their brackets, and the seats move too much. I need to mod that up too.
I'd like to swap them out for the clubman, I think, but since that's just an offshoot of the classic, I'll have to consider something else.
Bummer, I liked the look.
