That is very sad. I am actually planning to take my son to see one of these next Saturday at the Verizon Center in DC. I guess I'll get the cheap ticket that's pretty high up from the pit.
My thoughts to the parents and community.
I've always felt that arenas were a strange venue for such powerful machines -- I know how small a hockey rink is when I'm skating from end to end (and I'm not a strong skater). The thought of accelerating an enormous and likely ill-handling machine in such a confined area seems too risky for me.
