Alright, we've been on used tires since I saw the treads separating on two of the tires on my Astra. About a week ago, we had another one bulge out. That's 3 of 4 tires now. We only got the used tires to hold us off until tax money came in. It's in now, so I'm in the market.
I need a decent high performance All-Season in the 225/45/17 size. Lots of miles get racked up on this car, so something that has a service life of 25,000 or more miles is a requirement. I'm in Florida, so snow and ice isn't a real concern, but rain is. NVH isn't much concern, as the stock Hankooks weren't ever all that quiet and the wife will just turn the radio up more.
I really would like to keep the whole purchase as far under $600 installed as possible. There's a tire shop here that installs and balances for $8 a tire, so that leaves me with around $550 to spend on tires.
Kumho ASX is on my radar and is what I would likely buy without further input. You guys all seem to like them pretty well. Are there any other tires out there that are maybe better for around the same price? As good for less money?
Ordering isn't a big deal, and I have no brand loyalty or retailer loyalty.
