The Chevy C10 I bought had a rebuilt TH350 - with some problems that weren't fixed. It seems to be leaking fluid from a couple places. Some I was able to fix, but it looks like there may be some dripping out of the front seal. Is there any transmission stop leak stuff I can safely dump in that's a semi long term solution, or am I looking at pulling the transmission to change seals?
Many say they do, none do. Maybe short term.
If these magic liquids seal leaks, think what it might be doing to thevalve body.
Rebuilt and it leaks, hmmm.
Putting any sort of seal sweller in it now may swell all the fresh seals, causing all sorts of trouble. Dropping a 2wd truck trans is a fast and easy job. You don't even need a jack if you are comfortable bench pressing 170-180lbs.

I made that mistake, once. Let's just say that the bench and the concrete garage floor are two very different beasts...I hurt for a week afterward, and that was for a mere RX-7 trans, which is ~100.
Use a jack.
FWIW, I've never seen a "rebuilt" auto trans go more than 40k without major failure. I have had mixed experiences with Lucas trans fix - seems to help some, seems to destroy others.

Because people don't get their E36 M3 fixed before it E36 M3s the bed and sends all that trash everywhere. Hell, the stupid berkeleyers don't even service them, then when they blow up wonder why they have to spend $3k to fix it. Idiots.

I never had a problem with 100 lb transfer cases, though I was using a nice creeper. To be fair I have also never had a problem removing transmissions with a regular floor jack and a 2x4 with a friend on the tailshaft to keep it balanced.
We've got a lift and transmission jack here at work. Just trying to be lazy for a truck that's only an occasional driver.
Parking the truck over a box with kitty litter will keep the fluid off the ground.
Personally, I'd much rather add a quart of fluid every few months than pull the gearbox for a seal.
I don't like the drip drip drip. I fix all leaks as long as I have a good whip to roll in if I come across any more problems which is likely.

Ummm... I'll ask my wife?
