I have not.
I've seen lots of C8's, Supras, frisbee twins (though there's not an "FRS" anymore...), NDs, pony cars, but I don't think I've seen a new Z in the wild.
Handsome shape, seems like it should drive well, are they terrible to drive?
No market for a(nother) $40-50k-ish 2-seater?
Or just no movement on them here in the desert southwest?
I have seen them. Reviews have been lukewarm, and as you say, it's a small but congested market. From my - entirely subjective - viewpoint, I think that the styling may read better on the page than in person. Compare it to a Supra. The Supra has been subject to criticism as well, but it has a presence that IMO the Z doesn't have as much of.
I saw one a couple of months ago. I really liked the pictures, but in person it was meh.
I was just commenting on this with my dad the other day. I don't think either of us have seen one, but I see plenty of Supras and C8s in my area. Honestly, the Supra has really grown on me since it came out.

Came here to say that I saw one at the HSR Spring Fling at Sebring. Still counts as being "in the wild," right?
We were overrun with the 350 & 370 here. Have not seen one 400 yet.
Nope. Not even one. And I live in Orlando where you see quite a number of different things in the wild. It's weird. I've only seen a single 86 on the street too.
Nope, not one. Lots and lots of late model Mustangs tho.
I saw my first, and only, one last week in the Philly 'burbs. It was clearly brand new...
There's 2 or 3 in my neighborhood and one of them is owned by a guy with a new Supra. The Supra is certainly good looking in an overstated way. The 400z, looks nice but doesn't stand out next to the Supra. They both are parked in the driveway or street. I often wonder, what's in his garage then?

I see tons of 350s / 370s, but haven't yet seen a 400 either. And I drive past 2 different Nissan dealerships on a regular basis.
I see Supras fairly regularly and like others, I am more and more convinced by the styling every time I do. It definitely looks better in the metal.
I have not seen a single Z4 or whatever the BMW version is, ever.
I have seen at least one 86. Looked pretty good.
I'm more excited for the 400Z than I am the Zupra but I haven't seen any. Seen Zupras, C8s, Mach-e's, and T's galore but not a single 400Z. Makes me wonder if it isn't just really bad timing for a driver oriented 2 seater that doesn't have the Corvette or P-car fanbase. Guys with money are buying $$$ trucks, families with money are buying SUVs, retirees go C8 or P-car, and college students looking for a hot date with a telephone pole buy Mustangs. Different circumstances could see me checking out a 400Z but definitely not in this economy.
Haven't seen any. Only a few Supras. No new twins.
Oklahoma is mostly Mustang's and Trucks.
Haven't seen one in person yet either. Supras and C8s have been out longer, though, so it isn't surprising to be seeing more of them. Last time I checked, the local dealers were still trying to get a big upcharge on them, which probably isn't helping.
I've seen Supras, C8s, new twins, NDs, Mustangs, Camaros, Porsches, but no new Zs. If there was one listed recently with a manual in my area, I would have seen it. Seems rather unobtanium.
Think I saw one somewhere near Toronto? Probably the same one being tested by one of the big car mags at "T"MP. Relatively speaking I see tons of Toyobimmer Supras, C8s, and 2.4L Toyobarus.

If he's like a lot of people I've seen, probably a bunch of junk that's worth way less than the cars.
We got one about a month ago sold in a few days grey 6spd base, the customer has since desperately tried to turn it into a performance spec car. Not a bad car to drive lots of power the base model chassis tuning is a huge let down. Nissan is being very slow to deliver these cars to dealers that could play a part.
I've seen quite a few, I like it in person more than I did in pics
I'm not likely to buy one, I think $30k would be my limit if I went new (pondering an 86 in neptune blue, if I do...), but it would be interesting to see one out on the streets.
Agree with the comment the Supra looks grow on you, especially when seen live. I liked the looks of the toyobaru's in pics when they came out, moreso live when I saw them, for both versions. A couple comments here make me wonder if the Z is the opposite.
Lot of online hype when they were coming out with it, seems to have withered.
Given the market (lot of good stuff available), I think they should've done a 510 type thing, smaller, lighter, lower price point, a bit more practical than the twins for carrying actual bodies, etc. But, the mfgrs can't get economies of scale unless it's front drive, so it would be a bit pricier. I'd have bought that IDX thing they floated if it was available at Miata/Toyobaru prices or a bit less.
Wonder if an IDX type thing would fly better if they marketed it in the online racing games/partner withSCCA/ gridlife etc, get the yutes involved.
Eh, devolved from the Z thing a bit, pardon the rambling...
In reply to obsolete :
Walked by on my way back from picking my kid up from school. Its just a dark blue r33 gtr and a new yukon denali in his garage. The guy is a retired Marine officer who was stationed in Oki Japan at the height of the import craze.
Saw one the other day in silver. I also felt like it looked better in pictures than it did in person. It looked big, not in a good way. Had a high waistline, looked more like a crossover than a sports car at first glance.

My impression is if you look at it, you can tell it came from a 370z
