pix to follow. brief summary so far:

friday practice, Gold car was flawless. Art car, repaired after my crash at MIS in August, picked up a vibration from front end on the first driver's in lap. lug nuts on right front loosened up by about 1/2-turn. this is a new hub, with new wheel studs, new wheel (with powdercoat removed from lug seats) and new lug nuts. torqued all lugs on both cars and sent them out for more practice. no other issues on friday, everyone got familiar with the track, cars are running great and handling properly.

saturday race, both cars run first stints perfectly. at first pit stop (fuel and driver change), the Art Car was in 2nd and the Gold Car was 4th. on the in lap, the Art Car front end vibration came back, and again had to put about 1/2-turn on all RF lugs. So we double-nutted them and only checked the jam nuts on subsequent stops. Halfway through second stint in Gold Car, power steering pump pulley broke, and we lost 30 laps replacing it. Got the car back onto track and it ran great all the way to the end.

Saturday result: Art Car 3rd, Gold Car 25th or so.

Sunday: Boring. Both cars ran flawlessly. Gold Car 2nd, Art Car 4th.

Sunday night / all day Monday: towing from College Station TX to Dexter MI. 1302 miles.

Nice. I ran two billion laps there on motorcycles back when there was a horseshoe that led directly to the banking. Two places per lap where you really pitch it in and lean on that right front, eh? Glad it worked out for you.
