AWD :-) I have been hoping that one day Ford would do this and it looks like that day may finally be here!

I think it's awesome they are actually releasing it here. Too bad it isn't getting the sweet sounding 5 cylinder.
If I hadn't just bought a new car, I'd likely be considering it since it should be fast and practical.

Since the 5cyl was a Volvo engine, and Volvo is no longer part of Ford, that was going to end fast.
It helps that we also have a larger displacement 4 cyl in the line up for turbos and DI.

Aren't both the Golf R and STi in the mid-30's? The RS can't be $45K.
That whole powertrain- special AWD and all- needs to go into the MKZ. Let it have either the manual, or the 6speed auto that is quite good and AWD.

Absolutely zero inside knowledge, but I doubt $45K. I'm guessing $35 to pushing, but still under $40K. Also don't forget that most of the world displays prices including tax unlike the US. So £30K in the UK includes 20% sales tax, so the real sticker is 'only'£25K or right around $40K USD. Also don't forget the UK is always higher on pricing than other countries for whatever reason.
It won't be $45k here - or Ford wouldn't call it a Focus. They know the name recalls econo-buckets of the 80/90s more than race cars of the 70s. Maybe Mustang II
Whatever it is... I'm going to test drive one.

Also do Volvo still even make the T5 engine? It's a great and soulful engine, I love mine, but honestly it's an old fashioned thirsty lump that just wont cut it today. I only get around 25mpg in mixed driving, that can drop to 23 if I'm having fun and less on track. Drive it like an old lady with a glass foot and I can eak out27-28mpg.

For an ordinary FWD Focus with 150hp, no, nobody would pay $45k for it.
But this aint that.
Nor is it the Focus ST that is $25k.
Still, I don't see it above $40k, just like Adrian suggests.

That's amazing, Focus recalls images of econo boxes from before it was ever sold here!!! It was launch here as a 2000 model year.

That's kind of interesting thinking, since the Focus came out in 2000.
To me, the Escort name goes back to the 80's.
I am very excite! As much as I love this thing, truth is I'd rather have an Ecoboost 4-banger Mustang with Recaros if I were buying a new car. And I'm a Focus Fanatic.
In reply to alfadriver:
hahaha. You are right. I mentally swapped Escort for Focus. Much in the way Cavalier goes right to Cobalt in my brain.

Understood. You realize we have resurected the Escort name in China for another C class vehicle that sells under the Focus.
But back to the RS.
