I love drag racing....Hell, I love ALL racing!

I've run the FMII powered Miata down the strip a few times during the Challenge. It was hot, didn't get a good launch (excuses, excuses) but it still managed a 13.6 et. Forgot what the trap speed was, but I'm thinking 104mph or so. I think I was running 11 lbs of boost--- so there's more potential there.

The 1997 M3 has run a 14 flat at 100 mph or so---although the last time I ran it---- I split the driveshaft in two pieces! Check your diff / subframe bolts people.....ask me how I know! I'm not sure if I'll run it again, as that run was pretty spot on--- it may have a high 13 sec pass in it.....but not much more.

I did some drag racing in the 70's, but it was the illegal kind. Made some some money, had a blast, got a bit of a reputation. When I go back to that area now and look at the places we raced, it absolutely terrifies me. I was lucky, but it was incredibly stupid.

Later, I took my '90 Mustang notch through the lights at Milan a few times. It was a pretty mild build, but ran 13.20s at ~110 on street tires, all motor, no power adders. Shouldn't have sold that car - there was more in it but never had time to find it..

Every form of racing requires some different kind of skill and expertise. I like 'em all!
