I'm just now starting to get some energy back after the Challenge. The drive up and down from Ohio I think is mostly what did it, I didn't have a drop of alcohol down there. Definitely not getting any younger, and am glad I took Monday off.
Anyone else taking a while to get back to normal?
Glad to head that I'm not the only one who is still dragging. For some reason I could not sleep at the hotel this year. I averaged 4 hours a night for the 3 nights.

Maybe the lack of beer is why the recovery is taking so long! I had a bunch of beers down there and I was back in the swing first thing Monday morning!

I dunno, I didn't have any alcohol either and was doing pretty good Monday morning. Of course, I also didn't spend the entire drive back in (and driving most of the time) a ratty Miata, so that may have played a part...

But with you that typically equates to "faster"!
I'm glad I took Monday off, but I only reached home close to 11pm on Sunday after nearly 11 hours of travel door to door, with a good power-walking race through an airport in the middle.
In reply to wae :
Yeah, I think the difference may have been me in the Miata and you in the “wagon”. And the fact that I’m a wimp.

The driving wore me out. I was dragging all day monday and even slept a little more than usual on the second night back!
My corporate overlords informed me just before we left that I was no longer employed while this is a bummer having the last couple days off to recover was great.
Stopped near DC on the way back scored a heck of a deal on some interesting parts for next years project.

Nah, I think it was the leather seats, cruise control, Dan Carlin, and the fact that I was just there as support and not actually responsibile for anything!
But I'm not going to risk it and skip the beer!
I'm sitting by the pool in St Augustine watching the kids swim. I'll be dragging next monday
I'm not particularly energetic yet. The drive back to Michigan was tiring, a big truck I'm not used to and trailering through too many metropolitan areas. It's easier to just go spectate and haul my butt home in the MINI. I'm supposed to hit the gym tomorrow morning, or maybe not.
I'm still hungry. Too much running around, not enough food.

Yes, missed two weeks of work. Now I am trying to catch up on everything since I’ve been missing. Struggling to get back on the sleep schedule.

I worked Monday. Well, I showed up on time and left on time anyway. I also did a pre-scheduled chiropractor visit Tuesday after work (because sometimes I have smart ideas). But Tuesday evening I was ready to crash out by 945pm. Old man not getting any younger.
Starting to feel more normal. I managed to make a mess in the garage in an attempt to start cleaning it out. After work today, I'm going to get more done out there.
I almost have the Rampage emptied out- the only thing still in it are the new race tires, and that's only because I didn't want to haul them through the house into the basement mechanical room where they'll be living for a while since SWMBO was sitting on the couch I'd walk right by with them (not worried about explaining having bought them, but storing them in the house may be more challenging).

Wait...doesn't EVERYONE store tires in their house?

I'm just about ready to declare myself physically recovered by now. Between the extra medication and actually enjoying myself I pushed aside the intense pain and overcame the lack of sleep. The flight home was torturous and tipped things over into really bad territory for the past couple of days. I'll happily be there again next year; pain fades much quicker than memories.
FWIW, my extra tires have moved from the kitchen, to the garage, then basement and finally to stored in the car over the years of challenge builds... I just realized that swmbo has been working on that for a long time!

You sir,are doing it right!
I thought I was about recovered. But then I realized it was Thursday not Tuesday so that's why I feel okay. Somewhere I lost two days.
I could definitely use another few days....
