I can usually get through most of these kinds of ads, but this one has a "word" that has me stumped:

http://dayton.craigslist.org/cto/2782278023.html

About half way through this....ad... is the word "dow". I just can't figure out what the heck this one is supposed to be.

Kundos for anyone actually getting through the whole thing.

I think it must be synonomous with dough, bread, ends, chips, etc in contemporary vernacular ....Flip me some "dow" and I'll gladly repay you Tuesday.

Outside of the Ebonics.... I can't make out what he is saying or meaning with that word. The rest of it I can understand. But I think it just means it needs paint.

All I can suggest for the person that posted the listing on CL. Sell all the cars, go back to school...

I think is the combination of English as a second language. And posting from a mobile device.

I read the whole thing, its bad but honestly I have seen worse.

I'm guessing he's using "dow" as a generic term for cleaner/polish/whatever.

I think the seller is telling you to invest in the Dow Jones Industrial Market. Hopefully your investments will pay off and you'll have enough capital to finish the car.

My guess is he meant "Fresh paint and a little [bit else] done". It's too bad Google Translate doesn't speak Illiterate.

People who create ads like that need to be beat over the head with a keyboard, repeatedly.

If he put the fresh cote of pant on it, and loaded it up with dow, before he made a new listing, he could probably make a lot of money. especially since he has all the respites.

I was thinking maybe he meant "sanding down", and just dropped most of the letters.

But carzan might well be righter than I with his guess for polish/wax.

The ones that kill are the, " I'm just sale this too go back in scool." ads.

I love how they all end with, "No low ballers".

Don't low-ball me, I friggin' called it!!!

Thanks for looking. I currently have 3 first gen MR2s, two of which are in perfect running order.

The green and white one (shown below) is a 1988 MR2 with a 5-speed transmission and around 150,000 miles. As you can see, it has a fiberglass V-fiber F1 body kit on it. The bodywork has already been done, and done right. Although the work to install the body kit was done well, the body needs a little bit of work on some moulding from some recent hail damage, although that issue is already practically fixed. The windshield also has a small crack from the same hail storm. The body just needs a little more sanding, some primer, and it will be good as new. The car recently got new calipers and rotors along with a new fuel pump, and all receipts can be provided upon request. The engine is a NA 4AGELC with the 7-rib block and big port head. The engine has no aftermarket work done. It was purchased from a JDM importer and installed 56,000 miles ago.

The red MR2 (also shown below) is a 1986 with a 5 speed transmission and a NA 4AGELC engen with the 7 rib block. This engine only has 95,000 miles and makes lots of power. It has new calipers and brake pads, new fuel pump, and new clutch that was replaced about 3,000 mi ago. Runs great and has a nice body for a MR2. Just needs a fresh coat of paint and a little dough and it'll be good as new.

I also have a sh!t ton of extra parts, so take your pick on what you want. I have transmissions, engines, parts etc. I allso have a 1989 MR2 with no motor or transmission in it. Just a parts car, but it does have T-tops unlike the other two, which have sunroofs.

Just call or text with any qustons. I'll sell all three together or separate. Just make an offer, I'm not sher yet what I want out of them. I realize in this economy I won't get what they're worth. All three have clear titles and are ready to be transferred into your name. Please no email, call or text only (937)29six-66five6. Thanks for looking.

Holy crap, why didn't dough pop into my head?

Clearly this means I haven't spent enough time on craigslist.

I'm doing FEA on a rocker assembly on a computer that's really not built for it, so while I wait on Solidworks, I have to find some way to waste time.

I was pretty proud when i figured out "a little dough", but I'm too late. I guess I should spend more time here and less working.
