So one of my fellow Corvair people posted up their latest finished build. What I’m looking at is that box mounted to the firewall. He said it came with the car and just reused it, but has no info on it.

I’m interested in this as a PVC catch box just as it’s being used on his car. Does it look familiar or is it a custom job? My Google fu is not coming up with anything.

Looks like an early Empi oil breather for a VW.  These days they have a logo on them but the numerous knockoffs don't

I blame my fathers obsession with aircooled VW's in the 80's. I recognized it instantly.

Those are everywhere in the VW world ,  many have company names cast into the top,

First ones were made in the 70s and that style has not changed since.

I imagine they are, but I am not in the air cooled VW scene, so I honestly have never seen one. Unlike the Air Cooled VW scene, Corvairs rarely use VW stuff.

The motor in the first pic looks beautiful. I have always had a thing for Corvairs.
