Anybody want to go look at an old Ford for me?

just a bump - this is about an hour from either Augusta GA or Columbia SC.
37,000 original miles. $1000.
From the Ad: 1979 Ford F-150 Custom. 4.9 inline 6 w/3spd manual on the column , tow pkg., bedliner, good tires, runs and drives great, I have title,
So...I've got a call in to the guy - voicemail. This is exactly the kind of thing I've been looking for, so I'm going to hound the E36 M3 out of him, but it's a 3 hour drive for me and I'd love for someone to poke a stick in the floorboards and tell me how rotten the door and cab corners really are.
I'm hoping this isn't a scam. Frankly, I can't imagine using this as scam bait, but who knows...
So...I just talked to the seller. He's in town today (friday) until 7 PM. After that he's gone until Next Thursday.
Why would you list a vehicle and go out of town the same day? Sounded like a solid guy but...
Whatever. If by some chance someone from GRM is close enough to go see the truck TODAY I'll happily hand you a case of good beer or a bottle of nice whiskey for your trouble.
Hmmm...Googling the phone number with the ad brings up Clamp Auto Sales - which has a couple bad reviews about selling cars with problems.
I smell a rat...
If its as solid as it appears thats 2500 plus around here. I want another one myself, goodluck on the search!
I sent this to my buddy in TN, on the outside chance that's his old truck. Used to call it Ole Blue. We worked together 10 years ago and he liked to park it in the VPGM's parking spot all the time.
I remember he was towing a car with it once and there was a traffic light at the bottom of a long grade. Took a couple of run-and-gos to time the light just right with enough momentum to make it up the hill. If it didn't, he had to back down through the light and try again.
