I bumped into my UPS driver a few minutes ago, who handed me a big stack of packages from Summit Racing, Wilwood, and AiM. I get packages from racing companies pretty much constantly, and apparently he's noticed. He handed me my packages, then said:
"I've gotta know, man, what's with all of these speed parts constantly getting delivered but you've got electric cars parked in your driveway?! What's going on?!"
We were standing in front of my electric F-150, and apparently he's been confused for months about what exactly was going on at my house and finally got the chance to ask me. How could I be on "team battery" AND buy race car parts?
I said I liked race cars and electric cars, then I walked him out back to the garage and let him poke around the V6 Miata for a bit. He seemed to give it his stamp of approval, then thanked me for keeping UPS in business and got back into his truck. Super nice guy, and clearly a car enthusiast.
Bottom line: I guess UPS really does keep an eye on what you're buying. And apparently I'm tough to read based on my wide-ranging car tastes.

Our long-time UPS driver saw my Celica race car the first time and said that's his favorite of all the cars I've driven to work. When I bought the BRZ he asked if he was going to be bringing parts for that now. And last time I bought wheels/tires on Tirerack he popped in and said "want to just load them in the Crosstrek vs bringing in here?"
My occasional UPS driver (they really mix up the routes compared to years past) has an R35 GTR. Nice guy.
Mine has stopped to chat with my about my car when I was in the garage working on it. They noticed when I sold the M4 and got a corvette instead.
So, my grandparents live about a mile away, and they are both retired, so frequently at home throughout the day. So I have stuff shipped there all the time.
Several times the UPS or Fedex guy has commented, or asked, what the constant stream of Summit / RockAuto / TireRack deliveries are for. One day the UPS guy delivered something while I was doing paint correction on my Lincoln Mark III, so he came in the garage and we BS'd for about 5 minutes. Really, really nice guy.
Mine left me a note with his cell, "if you ever want to sell CTS-V." Are all UPS guys, car guys?
You know, every UPS driver I've interacted with has been really cool, whether it was the guy who stopped by the office (back when I worked in the back room) or even my local UPS driver.
Use them to scope out potential projects. Think of the ground they over every day!
One of the really good autocross drivers out of Jacksonville works for UPS. I think he works in the warehouse, used to have a route.
In keeping with the other theme of this thread, he's also a really nice person.

Shout out to Juan, who is still our UPS guy at the office and continues to be awesome.
It sounds like you guys have regular UPS drivers. My area is not like that at all. There's only one person I recognize, and I've only seen him a handful of times in the neighborhood - I recognize him from C&C/Facebook.

Makes sense that they are all nice guys. It's not far from being the perfect job for a human body. Lots of sitting in the "outdoors" interspersed with regular low-medium impact exercise. Provided you eat well it's just right.
Combine that with the fact that they supposedly make bank, I'd be in a perpetual good mood as well.

Also look up "UPS Dogs" on Facebook, and all the animals they meet. (Asked our driver, he carries a box of cookies in his truck.)
During the almost 4 years long restoration of my E-Type Jag, my UPS driver became almost a daily feature of my garage!

My dog comes to the office with me and loves the UPS guy. Quick shout out to Bob.

Glad it's still Juan. That guy is the best. Always felt bad when we had a delivery of back issues come in.
