Thinking about picking up a pair - I've heard it said they're "worlds better" so I figured I'd get the skinny.

Yea or Nea?

Short answer? Yes. As long as they fit you well. The main thing is that the backs come up a LOT higher - NB1 seats are right at the base of my skull, NB2 seats are comfortably and safely most of the way up my head.

Well, I'm 5'9" a buck sixty five (and growing along that axis, unfortunately, but I digress...), and my seats are just up the backside of my head.

I've heard they have better support all around, and with the current seats, I feel like I sit on top of them, rather than in them, if that makes sense...

5 foot 6, 225. I like the nb1 seats a hell of a lot more than the nb2. Much more comfortable to me.

However, this is purely street. They dont hold you in as well as nb2 for spirited driving.

Early NA seats are still the most comfortable for me. Better thigh support. Early NB seats are the worst of the lot , so I'd seriously look at the NB2 ones.

A lot of it is personal preference, of course, but the NB2 seats are generally seen as an upgrade for most cars. Where are you located? I'm sure you can find somebody close by to let you sit in some. I've had all 3 types in my Miata, and ended up dropping a whole bunch of money on race seats meant for an Elise instead.

I've got some leather NB2 seats that need to be recovered I would trade for some cloth NA seats

Tucson. I need to pick up a washer bottle bracket, I'll sit in them then - if they're passably better, I think I'm grabbing them, no worse than what's in the car now, upholstery wise.
