Who would have thought that the hot ticket for this years Grassroots Motorsports Challenge would be giant, softly suspended luxury cars. This ought to be entertaining, to say the least.
I guess it all started with John and his people's choice Q45 last year. Pulling off 11th place while blowing up is pretty impressive, not to mention cheerleaders, beads and a DJ.
Somehow he finds a twin with 68,000 miles to compete with this year.

My buddy decides to bring possibly the most unlikely challenge competitor of the lot a 1995 Buick Roadmaster Wagon. Blue leather baby!
I buy a broken Lexus and kick off a debate about fair market value, broken cars and dealer auctions...
Willrunifchased brings the beige and buys the car that kicked off the Japanese Luxury invasion in the early 90's.
So at this point literally a third of this years challenge cars are improbable choices. All I can say is awesome and I can't wait to see how this turns out!
Shaping up to be a solid event already
Looks like a really solid lineup and some pretty nice cars coming. I wish I had time. I know a few cars that would be a fit for the class including a nice volvo like what they ran in BTCC.
I think this might be the year I come down to watch. I said that last year... But then there wasn't a herd of luxury boats signed up.
"The Aristocrats", that I am aware of, in the order which they entered the race:
'90 BMW 750iL (that means V12!)
'90 Infiniti Q45 (the reincarnation)
'95 Buick Roadmaster Wagon (seating for 8)

There are still a couple of non-commits hanging in the wings so there will be more!
Another nuance. Though it is not a requirement of The Aristocrat Class, it appears that all these cars will be driven to and from the event. This will include drives from Illinois, Ohio, Mass and Penn.
The only questions I have is who will run the most nitrous? and who is running on Hoosiers?
My entry is in, I'm set on bringing the LS400 now.

200 tread wear Autocross tires for me. Likely Bridgestones and I will have to hyw drive them to and fro.

Last year, though I could not prove it, I figured it was the first time that the Infiniti brand had ever been represented at The Challenge. I was certainly sure that there had never been a Q45.
I also made a prediction at The 2014 Challenge; that there would be an All Infiniti Q45 Class the next year. I was trying to show that I had proven a path.
Well, here we are, headed into The 2015 Challenge. Not quite an All Infiniti Q45 Class but I take great pride that "the path" is being followed.
Of our lineup, does anyone remember if the following marques/models have ever been to The Challenge?
Has there ever been a V12 entered?
Ever a Lexus? Jaguar? Buick?

Needs more Cadillac, Lincoln, Mercury and Mercedes. Come on folks lets step up... Tommy you need to bring something ridiculous and diesel.
Edwardh80 needs to bring his Volvo 850 T5 that he bought from me a month ago.
I did a Cadillac in '05.
