OK, Atlanta craigslist has failed me (possibly a good thing). After seeing Datsun310guys’s post about flying down and picking up a cheap care http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/1993-bmw-325is-not-yet-bought/56310/page1/#post1016108 I headed down to virtual Atlanta to do some searching of my own.

Current two spots on my want list are an Rx7 or E30. The pickings are thin.

Zip zero nada in the last month of E30’s

Good job I’m still in money raising phase not purchase phase just yet.

Please note this post is 93.7% in jest

What I've found is that there are always tons of desirable cars available when I'm not looking. And the inverse is true when I am looking. Might be a perception thing.

Those cars are very popular for racing down here and rarely stay on CL for any length of time if they're any good.

Trust me, E30 is one of my top searches in Atlanta CL and I can barely find any good ones. The ones I can find are typically 86's, automatic that hasn't run in 6 months. I am looking for 89-91, 5 speeds.

believe it or not many cool cars/projects have dried up from ATL CL. I'm thinking it's either that the rest of the country is picking them up, or it's a sign of the economy not being quite so bad as a few years ago...

As I said, I was maininly joking, but it would be nice to find a rust free car somewhere

This is true of life in general. If you want to spend money you can't find anything, if you are broke there are endless temptations.

If it isn't on ATL CL it doesn't exist. I'm about 3.5 hours north, and even here its widely accepted that all used BMWs come through ATL.

Me 3.

I think we may have reached the point where the membership of the GRM forum looking for facelifted E30's is greater than the number left in circulation.

There is a 198 E30 with an incredibly solid body but a bit of a wonky engine on the Raleigh craigslist right now.

I went and looked at it last night. No rust, anywhere. I was amazed.

I'll even take one with a "Manuel"

I like the metal bumpers personally. Not because they look better, but because our local rally-x crew likes to play bumper-cars while in grid

while you're searching the area, don't overlook the Macon (GA) listings. I'm amazed what pops up here from time to time, and we're only 1 hour south of Atl.

you know, not to enable or anything...
