First time I've ever thrown out a GRM magazine before reading it. A LS in a Mustang ruins a perfectly good Mustang. There had to be something better to right about other than destroying a Mustang with crappy little boat anchor.

When 5.3L Aluminum LS motors are cheap and plentiful courtesy of 600k Silverados being sold annually, it's relevant
I'm sure there's also some Miata owners who dumped the magazine when they saw the very lifted Miata article, too.
I thought it was cool. Haven't read the Mustang article, but get over it.

Hahaha, funny! Oh wait, you aren't serious are you? I thought it was sarcasm. You know, especially since the LS shares more in common with a SBF than a SBC. In fact, you can bolt LS heads onto a SBF. Seriously, it's 2016 and people still act like this?!?
I'm sad you didn't like the magazine, but then again you didn't read it so I'm not quite sure how you know you didn't like the magazine.
I'm also excited for where this thread will go next.
I was a fan of this installment. Because it's local I'm trying to get the owner/creator of the Offroadster to come autocross it.
-------what class would it be?
I'm sure High Performance Mullets and Wife Beaters over at Peterson Publishing would be happy to sell you a series ads with a few words thrown in to string a few together.
The rest of us are adults and will READ the magazine and pick out the parts that interest us and skim over the parts we don't dig as much.
Some might even discuss, using words and data, the advantages and disadvantages of such a swap.

Lol. Thanks for posting. Not sure if you are serious or sarcastic, but either way, I find it entertaining.

That is just crazy enough to catch on
I thought it was pretty cool, too. I realize that I'm biased, but that's the GRM way--making things better to suit your needs and tastes. If we all built the same things, imagine how boring stuff would be.
Plus the Mustang owner is really, really into Fords. He tried all sorts of combos and couldn't get what he needed. I thought Scott did a killer job telling that story.
Of course I'm not serious about throwing away the magazine, I am serious about ruining a Mustang tho In reply to T.J.:
I love the magazine Tom, I've been reading it since my son started racing SM back when he was 13. I know I'm not alone tho, and judging by your last sentence you can see the fun in starting this. In reply to Tom Suddard:
Mixing and matching is kind of the way things work around here. I've got a British car with a rotary engine in it.
You should have seen the looks I got when I took it to the local British Car Club car show. Those guys thought I was the devil incarnate. It was great fun.
Pick a chassis, pick a engine and cut and paste.
Strike Zero has a Chevy LS going in a Lincoln LS. What's not to love about that.
Life is so much more fun when you realize that different is not only good, it's great. The only limits are your imagination and your skill.
Pretty sure it's time to start swapping Olds Diesels and 4-6-8 Cadillac big blocks into everything. Maybe HT4100s for good measure.

I've got a British car with an American engine and mostly Japanese underpinnings. Long live the bastards!

If you want a test bed, I have a Ferd E150 that could use a weird engine.
Also, the worst part about the August GRM is that it hasn't shown up in my mailbox yet
stroker wrote: Can you imagine the reaction if you'd put a Peugot or Mitsubishi engine in it?
My vote is mate 2 4g63 engines together a-la straight 8 with a single turbo.
My only complaint is there seemed to be a metric E36 M3 ton of advertisements.
I liked the article. I thought it was cool that a ford type trans was used.
I don't mind the adds, since they are what actually pay to keep this little slice of sanity operating.
While not a fan of LS swapped fox bodies (especially not a REAL 93 cobra), that car was awesome, and it made sense to do what he did.
I thought it was a great issue, especially the piece on the lifted Miata. That thing looks like fun.
And dumb question, but is that gray/silver fox body in the insurance article a GRM car? I hadn't seen it before, but I dig it. It's the reverse color scheme of my fox body, and it looks really clean.
