I found these races on YouTube and have been watching one per night ever since. Great driving and awesome cars. Picture and sound quality are excellent. Turn the volume up when you watch.
World's fastest six cylinder Valiant:
A Javelin??!
Mustangs, Falcons and a car you'll wish we had here the Holden Turano.
There are some wince-inducing crashes. Doesn't seem to keep these guys from driving 10/10ths in 'vintage' cars. Give them a watch.
I found a YouTube channel with the whole Eurosport feed of the 2002 WRC season.
It makes me want a Focus, and/or a VW Jetta (Skoda Octavia).
The Holden Torana gtr xu-1 has an awesome history. In fact, Bathurst 500 (before being named 1000) had some really fabled history between 1971 and 1974 ish. The “supercar scare” with Evan Green shows how a media personality can change and warp our sport for better or worse.

Good to see the appreciation for the touring car masters make it beyond our shores. It's a great series and the drivers really don't hold back.
Now to be "that guy".
The world's fastest valiant 6cyl isn't the blue vf valiant sedan in the front of that picture, it's the vh e49 charger just behind it. At the time of release it had a tad over 300hp, did 0-100mph in 14.1 and a 14.4 1/4 mile.
With the turano, are you referring to the yellow at at the front of thay shot?, If so, it's a Monaro, not to be confuses with a Torana

Thanks for the link. Great racing. BTW, the 1st four races of the 2018 season just posted up as well.
Yes daeman, forgive me for my North American improper use of Holden nomenclature (said with tongue in cheek). My Monaro knowledge begins and ends with the Night Rider (think of him when you look at the midnight sky). Fords I know because I'm a Ford guy. Aussie Mopars...totally foreign. And then AMC was knocking some cars together down there as well - acquaintance of mine exported a RHD Gremlin back to the states a few years ago.
Cool cars, all. I'm a bit disappointed the XY Falcons don't do better in the series.
In reply to daeman :
Hot dam you fellers got all the cool rides down there! I am so envious of the variety of flat out awesomeness.

All good mate, just figured it was a chance to share some Aussie car knowledge. I'm forever getting lost when it comes to the American gear
In reply to EastCoastMojo:
We do have some pretty cool stuff, but plenty of Aussies would gladly have some American muscle given the chance, guess the grass is always greener so to speak

Aussies and Kiwis can at least drive their muscle cars around a road course. Vintage muscle guys here hardly even bother with autocross.
I've been truly enjoying watching both this and the Improved Production racing.

This is what makes me want a CAM/Pro Touring style car so awesome.
Aussies have always understood muscle cars better than the Yanks, and they love to race them. It's no coincidence I refer to my V8 MGB GT as a "GTHO".
I have a soft spot for the mid-80s Commodores thanks to Brock. I'm going to have to put some time aside for this series.
I need to go to Australia someday.
