I don't really like automatics in general, but sometimes its ok. I have a 300SD and I don't mind the automatic in that really, and I have driven a FR-S automatic which actually wasnt too bad at all. Given the choice, for any vehicle that comes with both manual and automatic transmissions id take the manual though, for me there isnt really any downside to driving them, and I think its more pleasant to drive, and more reliable and cheaper to maintain.
