This is the hat similar to what I have.
I'm usually a mid-pack driver right now. 
I went to my first autocross last weekend. The biggest hat didn't work as I had the biggest but 3 of us newbies ( I think there were 8 total) found the guy that designed the course and walked it with him. After more walk through we started racing.
My first run with a guide was off course and I hit a cone. The second was solo and off course. Third with a guide was called off course but proved on with a time of 74. I kept decreasing time until I reached my goal of 60 on the 8th, but I hit 2 cones. I did better in all corners but the Chicago box and the near hair pin.
I came in 3rd of 3 but in the ESP class the others were V8's. I am planning on getting it to street class next year when I find some non lowered rear springs. I almost think only the dealer have them.
Sounds like a successful first day.
