I didn't think anything was wrong with my 4 cylinder Ranger, but I added a jug of BG cleaner to the tank along with a drink of premium petrol; what a difference! Going up a long hill on the way to work, highway speeds, the best I could muster was 70 mph, now I actually risk getting pulled over.

I pulled the 914 out of hibernation last week, maybe she needs a drink of Mead also.

did you ever run it on premium before BG?

FWIW, a friend of mine runs an independent repair shop in the DC area -- AutoTech Car Care in Bowie MD -- and over the years he's been approached by every vendor of every additive possible. BG is the only brand he's ever been satisfied with. Whenever I visit, I pick up a few cans of MOA and a few cans of 40k.

I had a '94 four cylinder Ranger that responded quite well to Amoco/BP gas. After a few tanks of 89 octane, it stopped pinging and the acceleration picked up some. I'm not sure what it is about Ford products.

This is a 2001 Mazda product, but it stopped pinging too.
