Wow, I just heard on the news about Tim's remains being recovered. I'm very sorry to hear that.

I'm wondering if they wanted revenge on somebody they knew only as "that guy with the black Ram" and had only a vague description of, and it was a case of mistaken identity. That would explain why they'd test driven a similar one and left the guy alone - they were hunting for someone with a black Ram and could tell it wasn't the first guy.
Nathan, I'm very sorry this happened to your friend. My condolences.

Ugghhh. That sucks. I'm really sorry.
I really don't know what to say, except that I'm very sorry. If nothing else, know that he didn't die completely in vain. I've bought and sold lots of cars on CL. From here on out I'll do it differently. His death has prompted change from at least one person.
RIP Tim.

Nicely put.
This is so tragic. Condolences to friends and family. Though the odds of danger are slim, this reminds us that they are still out there and we should always take safety into consideration.
I'm very sorry to hear this. I was hoping the outcome would be different. Condolences to you, his family and his other friends.
As DrBoost noted, I'll be handling my car sales differently too. I just sold our Sequoia via a stranger and went on a test drive with them. I won't be doing that any longer.
Sorry for the double post. I've been just sick reading about this. I can't imagine the horror for his family. I'm so sorry for your loss Nathan.
There's another man reported missing in Collingwood - a Dodge Dakota owner.
I've met lots of people through online forums when buying parts for my truck, and usually make sure to meet them at a coffee shop or public place. I can't help wonder if whoever is doing this is online on a Dodge truck forum?
This is an awful situation. Nathan, I, too, am sorry for your loss. Lesley, be careful of strangers showing too much interest in your truck.
This is a time where I question why an "Amber Alert" wasn't used -- I know that is for children, but it seems clear to me that this was a kidnapping situation almost right off the mark . . .
I just don't get why they had to kill that lovely young man. Jesus, I'd have given them my truck to spare him.
A new twist...
Toronto Star said: One man in custody is about to be charged for first-degree murder. Police, meanwhile, seek two other suspects and a motive to explain why Bosma, 32, was targeted and killed. Kavanagh said he believes Bosma was killed shortly after his disappearance. The coroner’s office has yet to determine a cause of death. Police now say that when Bosma left his rural Ancaster home on May 6 to test drive his 2007 black Dodge Ram pickup with two men in their 20s, a second car was captured on video surveillance trailing in pursuit. Those new details have lead police on the hunt for at least two more suspects — a second man who climbed into Bosma’s truck that night and whoever was driving the other vehicle, which Kavanagh said has not been identified but could be an SUV. Hamilton police homicide Det.-Sgt. Matt Kavanagh told a news conference Tuesday...“Do I think he was targeted? The answer is: yes.”
