Last night I was perusing Cobalt SS blower setups dreaming of more power in the Vue again, when I stumbled upon this auction. Having not seen a complete setup go for less than $750, I bid $350 for E36 M3s and giggles, then completely forgot about it. Until 15 minutes ago when the "Congratulations!" email hit my inbox...
E36 M3!
Clean it thoroughly, take much better pictures, and double your money if that's really the case (and you don't intend to use it).
That is exactly how I ended up with a 1G CRX Si for $550. Totally didn't expect to win, until the moment I did.

Well, looks like you have to supercharge something now. Them's the rules.

This. How hard could it be?

After all, if Haggard Garage can strap a cheap Turbo to an automatic Protege, practically anyone with internet access can do it as well.

Profile says you have a Mazda 5, so...
I made that "mistake" once too, bought a supercharger and still have yet to use it. Good luck with your new project though.

Link to info? I just broke my protege5, so it must be time for boost.

I ended up with a spoke threading tool that way.
It's also how I ended up with my '73 1800ES for $800.

Nice! The dual pass, throttle body, and the zzp pulley are worth it alone.
Make sure you change those orings on the laminova tubes if you do go through with it. The ones on my redline ion were shot. Filling the 2nd radiator resulted in a lot of water in the intake manifold!
It's totally going on the Saturn Vue, because sleepers are awesome.
Isn't that thing always broke and you hate it? The blower will just make you hate it quiker.

I get it, by adding a blower to a car you hate, you can get to your destination faster and limit your exposure. Brilliant!
Does the Vue count as a minivan for $2016 classing?
I "won" a '67 Beetle I didn't want. Wasn't good / I paid all the guys fees.

You know... if you have the 2.2L L61 that would work. Give a GM dealership a call to do the ECU flash. There's obviously a few more parts involved but I was looking at doing it when I had mine but I couldn't find a complete kit for that kind of money otherwise I would have.
GM actually sold a kit for a while to do the supercharging. They're rare as hens teeth now though.
I got a 2nd gen SC12 for $100.... so I too have a supercharger that I haven't yet used.....

Yes, it's always broke and I hate it. But everything can be solved with boost!

Don't bother. They call themselves haggard and that's an understatement. They basically bolted a eBay turbo to a mostly blown automatic protege that they didn't do any supporting mods to and blew it up shortly after. I watch occasionally to laugh at their stupidity to make myself feel better about myself

It's the same difference as slapping the SC setup on the 2.2 Cavi. Bolt E36 M3 together, order a tuner from zzp(I doubt GM will reflash a Vue ecu with a tune for something else)

Some people say that jokingly, but really - power can cure a lot of ills. When I first got my Volvo 850 I wasn't very happy with it and was really bugged by some of the quirks in the car. But it turned out one of the turbo boots was torn and leaking under boost. I fixed that and suddenly the car was way, way more enjoyable and I was much more willing to put up with Volvo finickiness. (Finicky compared to, say, a Lexus which was my reference point.)
In reply to dculberson:
That's just replacing a critical component. Any car that's not map based will run like crap with a torn connector for the charge side.
