I do love our 2015 MKVII GTI.  What a perfectly comfortable and fast car in stock form. Drooling over APR Stage 1 (CARB approved- hard to tell which tuners actually have that designation) to make it completely wacko.  Its amazing in the engine department how much is left on the table.

I'm really happy with my Mk7.5 Golf R.  Probably will never see the track tho, I've got a "toy car" that takes care of that...

I bought a 20k mile 2011 GTI last summer. After driving trucks, SUVs and a minivan for the last 20+ years it's been a revelation. I wound up doing my first track day and a couple autoX in 2019. That lead to a stage 1 tune(~240 hp), DSG tune (the stock DSG leaves a lot to be desired), camber plates, Brembo 4 piston brake system, camber plates, sway bars and front LCA bushings. I've always wanted a car to tinker on and it's been a lot of fun. I'm planning to do a couple track days and autoX every time I can this year. Unfortunately with two kids in HS and one playing club volleyball that may not be that much.
