They still get in the upper 40s with a K20.
Im sure that has been true in at least one case but i have never seen it fully covered as to how much work went into that. Lots of cars can be tuned to deliver better mileage than factory settings, but it's also possible that the amount of tuning time, effort, and the drivability you're left with on a high-40s mpg tune, is impractical for some drivers. In short, id like to see more detailed info on that claim.

Same here. The K-sight had a lot of tuning done and sounded like it was running some pretty seriously lean air-fuel ratios. Plus the swap cost something like $20k+. Yikes.
There's no way a K-swap costs $20k unless you buy a brand-new engine from Honda.

I resorted to leaving my name and number on an Insight that I saw parked near work (in the hopes they may be interested in selling). Not too many Insights for sale locally. Maybe time to broaden my search radius...
