Have Spring seat issues on my "new to me" 08 Volvo S60.  Working pretty much one armed, so need advise on loaded struts, rather not chance dismantling what  i have. E-Bay, has em, but any good?

The fix used to be to upgrade to XC90 spring seats.  I've heard that all new OEM or Lemforder spring seats are now XC90 equivalent across all models that use the same spring seats.  Not being able to disassemble the struts and replace the seats yourself, that info doesn't do you much good.

Otherwise, Sachs are the OE strut for most modern Volvos.  FCP has loaded Sachs "quick strut" assemblies for around $270 a piece.

On my 850 I did Eibach springs, Koni STRT struts, XC90 spring seats, and some Daystar EVS bump stops.  Made the car pretty fun, but the STRTs were a tad harsher than I'd have liked on Ohio's potholes and expansion joints.  If I had it to do again I would have spent a little more and done the FSDs.

The spring seats are cheap and easy for a two armed dude...

The Sachs ones are likely the best units, but likely won't be the cheapest.  I seldom use the cheapest.

There has to be a GRM person near by that can be the extra hand for a couple hours.

Although owning a Volvo is a new experience to me, I'm aware of the XC90 spring seat swap .  It bothers me not to be able to do certain jobs on my vehicles anymore.  Springs can be a tad of an adventure.  Not sure I want to go for a bg buck strut change yet, for a little clunking sound.   I know good things aren't cheap, and cheap things aren't good.  Eibach Koni's and Bilsteins would be lost for what i need.   OEM probably the best bet.

I do have an extra set of hands in my son, but September to December he is all over the place hunting, when he is off.  Thanks for the input.

I just use Monroe when they are available typically.  I do recommend the black ones over the blue ones for longevity though.

I've had fine luck with Napa's sensatrack or whatever they call it for daily driver/dog hauler duty.
