Best looking taillights- post 1980 edition.

Alright, best looking, in your opinion, after 1980,  and mass production.

and one more rule- NO CIRCLES! Everyone knows the sexiest tail lights are a double row of circles. Corvette, skyline, etc. no circles fellas. 

Bonus points if you can find an 80's Japanese car that doesn't have tails squarer than Steve Erkel. 

I like square and blocky, with some color contrast.

Does the 944 count if you forget about the 924?

How about the Lexus LC500's mirrored taillamps that seem to produce a perpetual tunnel of light?

Oh this is fun. I'm going for not just the lens design, but also how they're stylistically integrated.

controversial, but I'm a big fan of the aero integration here, much like the way the new Ford GT has the exhaust through the tails

these are a silly design flourish, which I like.

I do too. Tri-color tail lights just make so much sense.

There are entirely too many recent tail lights inspired by Edsels.

There's lots of modern cars in this thread already, so I'll offer the tails on my 04 Ralliart wagon.

I second this.  Although, like me they're better looking in the dark. They're just OK in the daylight but lit up at night, especially pulling away they remind me of the Millennium Falcon.

Purely subjective but I'm always surprised by how much I like the lines of the E36  the tails do it for me.
