I just got an email from Griot's Garage for a wall mounted tire rack. I've needed one or three forever, and keep telling myself I'll build it. But I never get around to it, so I think I need to just buy something. Anybody have any recommendations?

Buy a welder instead. Make one out of 1" square tube. Then, Locost!

The one at "the tire rack" (not to be confused with your request) appears to be a decent rack at a decent price.

I have a welder. Three in fact. What I don't have is time to make a tire rack.

I can't believe I get to be the first to say this, but...Tire Rack sells tire racks!

Edit: D'oh beaten, I knew it was too good to be true T_T

A few 2x4's (or 1x3's if your cheap), a piece of pipe, and you have a rack.

Got a shelf unit in that garage? Remove the top shelf, put two bars across it, you now have a tire rack.

You say you don't have time, but I bet if you spent less time posting on a certain internet forum, you could pull it off!

That would be a good point if I was at home while doing said posting, but I am not.

amazon, hy loft, I now have 7 of these, at $40 it's cheaper than building

they fold up when not in use, and the bars are adjustable to fit your tires or storage bins

We just got some used industrial racks in the shop for storing tires on. Looks like a pallet rack, but it's only 2 feet deep. Not "cheap" like a pile of 2x4s, but not bad considering they're super robust, went up quick, and if we grow tired (ha!) of them they can be sold for about the same amount they cost. Where to find them? Craigslist, of course.

For reference, for a rack about 8 feet tall and 12 feet wide (holds a LOT of tires) was about $200.
