I've heard over and over how the RA-1 is a great trackday tire; it doens't overheat easily, it doesn't heat cycle harded, and it wears like iron (at least compared to a Hoosier) but I've been intrigued by the new R1 (especially after reading the GRM comparison). Does anyone have long term experience with tires? How many events before they heat cycled or wore out? Can someone compare the life of the R1 to the RA-1 (ie you've used both tires on the same car)?
