Want to watch me make a likely terrible decision in real time? I have an irrational desire for this 390, 4-speed, 69 Javelin that has obvious panel fit issues and a seller who isn't responsive.

It ends in about 4.5 hours and I'm trying to win.
In reply to Javelin :
For those following along, I think it's good for them to know your BaT handle is AMX310
Good luck!
That javelin could be a stinger
In reply to John Welsh :
It was a pretty safe guess.
The hood scoop looks like it is off of a Mustang II.
Good looking car in the pictures. But the body gaps are inconsistent.
Bid with care.
I don't want to offend anyone, but I worked in an AMC dealership not too very long after that car was built and panel gaps were not great then...

No, they were not. AMC could not afford really precise tooling for small panel gaps like the big 3, so they dialed in a lot more adjustability. Unfortunately most body shops (and AMC themselves) never put enough time into doing those adjustments. I got the gaps on my 73 Javelin, which were much worse to start with, down to a nice even standard everywhere except where it had been hit in the LF, which was still marginal.
That said, I'm hoping the terrible display of gapplebees here keeps the bids low.

Indeed it is! And thanks!
My advise is dont bid anymore until the end. No point in bidding now.
In reply to Slippery :
You can't snipe a BaT auction. Every bid within 2 minutes resets the clock to 2 minutes.
In reply to Javelin :
Yeah, but giving the other guy only 2 minutes to decide to go higher is better than giving the other guy an hour to think it over.
Less than an hour to go. It's at $19,250, reserve not met. I have a strong suspicion the reserve is $20K.
Just wait until the end to bid , hopefully there is not another waiting bidder
By current muscle car standards, not bad. But it is an AMC (I don't mean that in a bad way) which does not have the following of other pony cars.
I have wanted one for years.
Under 10 minutes...

I bought two cars on BAT and sold one.
My advise stands ;)
What is up with the front suspension? No shock tops in pictures...
Ok. Trunnions.
$19,500
And over $20k
And the bidding crowd goes wild...
