Just wow. Everyone ok but one of the biggest I have seen in a while.
The engineering you can see in action holding the tires on, tub together and the run off/ traps working is impressive. What a different video it would have been even 10 years ago.
As bad as that looked you can see that the roll bar hoop never really comes in contact with anything and of course the driver doesn't either. Scary as all heck but he never hits anything hard that could intrude into the drivers "space".
Now take Greg Moore's crash. See it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b4KrFQM1x0 If a F1 car were to take that same hit the results would be the same.
In reply to jimbbski:
There is still a tremendous amount of luck to crashing when the car goes upside down. For open wheels cars especially, but for roofed cars as well.
Alonso got a lucky bounce.
We watched it last night and wow what a crash. I have seen some online chatter today in regards to the halo and wether or not he would have been able to get out as fast as he did (with the halo). He said the main reason he got out as quick as he did was because his mama was watching at home on tv and he wanted her to know he was ok.
