Its been long enough that "your father" may have had a Grand National.
Will there be a GNX? With McLaren bits?
"... the T-Type will be offered in a full color palette, while the GN will come in black only"
That is the correct answer.

They also weren't four doors with unibody construction or available manual transmissions.
I still think this is awesome.

I thought the 80's regal, cutlass, monte, etc were unibody cars.....there was a rather mean T-type that had a short stay in my barn.....roof actually had the sheet metal rip behind the door.

If we complain about more cylinders and/or bigger motors in RWD American cars, don't the terrorists win?
I wonder if the market reaction will be any stronger to these cars than what the Mercury Marauder saw. I'm leaning towards thinking it will be about the same.
If production numbers are high enough, those turbo V6 drivetrains could be a really good start to a challenge car in about 15 years.

I don't think so, because A) these are a more-recognized nameplate, and B) these look cooler than a plain black Crown Vic.

Touche guys....I'd never thought a body on frame would tear the roof though.

i highly doubt that GM will send them out to a third party to have them hack the body up (and they did a pretty crude job hacking things up at ASC when they put the body stuff on the GNX) to install fender vents and wheel flares and a goofy rear suspension... they will do that all in house, and the GNX will likely be just a badge engineered GN with more power and better shocks.
that article had a lot of speculations in it- if they do this, then they could do that, which might allow them to use this other engine that will fit...

Linked article said: One of those GNXs used to belong to Mark Reuss, the current president of General Motors North America. In fact, his dad, Lloyd Reuss, approved the original GNX when he was executive vice president of General Motors North America in the '80s.
So it actually is his father's Buick.
