I have a set of nearly new General snow tires size 205/60 r16. I also have a 2005 Focus. Does anyone know if these tires will fit? I would mount one and try it but I don't have the proper 16" wheels on hand.

Google up the Miata. Net tire calculator and see how much size difference

They will definitely mount to the OE Focus 16" wheels, however they will by 1.6" taller than the OE tire size (which is pretty significant with regards to clearance) and will throw of the speedometer by 6.6% (4 mph too slow at 60 mph indicated).

If its 1.6" overall then it's about 3/4" taller on the top (.8" top and bottom each)

My 2001 Focus came with 205/50-16's stock. As others have noted your tires are a little larger in diameter which should not cause any problems other than speedometer error

My primary concern would be whether or not they'll fit under the front spring perches on the struts.

This is my concern as well.

Can you measure that gap with whatever tires you have on there now? Should be able to get an idea of how close it will be.

Good plan, I shall do that this weekend.

Use the RimsnTires calculator which will let you put in wheel dimensions including offsets to get an idea. I use it frequently when changing wheel widths and offsets.

Pretty sure it will clear the perches, a neighbor had an '02 with that same wrong tire size and it cleared fine. The extra lift will help with snow clearance, but the will hurt your torques and speedo reading; that's all I can come up with.

Excellent, the extra snow clearance will be good, torque and speedo are minor issues.
