Bushmasters are lots of fun.
mad_machine beat me to it, the Sterling was the one where the whole center of the car lifted up. neat idea, but could you imagine trying to get in/out in a pouring rain?
When I was a kid a guy down the street had a Bradley. It actualy ran. I was talking to my father abot it and he told me noot only did he have ine he almost put up the $$ to be the west coast distributor. That was suprising considering how financialy conservative my old man is.

Thats the one, I remember seeing a white one a few times back in '01.
EDIT you can still buy that kit new And it can be had in EV form... OTOH an FFR GTM would cost about the same and rip it to shreds on the street

Wasn't that car in one of the Cannonball Run movies? I think it was behind Catherine Bach and Susan Anton in a scene. Wasn't really paying attention to the car though.

They're homemade from plywood. You enter/exit from a single door mid-body on the passenger side.
Dan
not a bad thing entering and leaving though the side door. Van I used use at work had a wonky driver's door (it would not always unlock) so we used to use the side doors all the time. gave the car a slightly star trek shuttle like feel...
As for the comment about getting out of the sterling in the rain.. imagine if you managed to roll it over onto it's roof?
Just imagine this though.. sterling with WRX or STi power?

Thing is that they commonly use a bug floorpan. There is a tube chassis that I saw at Carlisile, but I am unimpressed with its engineering to say the least (its a tube tub.. not boxed in or really triangulated well from what I saw)
I could see taking the body and making a good tube chassis if you wanted that kind of power though
