LeBaron is gone. Dragged this home today. Anyone want to take a guess at what it is?
It looks very 2002 but the engine appears to be tilting the wrong way and the intake manifold is on the wrong side.
Its not something French, is it? I was leaning towards 124 sedan or Lada, but I'm not seeing strut towers.
The LeBaron - bought for $160 six months ago. Painted black with rattle cans in winter. Picture is extremely flattering. Always wanted a Niva.
[random story] Is the top hat a strip club? there is a top hat around here that always has protesters in front of it on weekend nights with signs complaining about the affect on their children [/random story]
Neat-o! There's your ZAV right there.
People in the UK and Aus. put Fiat/Lancia twin-cams into Niva's. I think it's a fairly straightforward swap.
Sweet! I love those things. Those are probably the 2nd most common communist vehicle I see around here. The most common are still Trabis.
If it's tough enough for Siberia it's tough enough for anything.
Yes Top Hat is a strip club. Seemed a good local for the cheesy but silly LeBaron.
some more pictures - I love this thing
was full of crap and filthy inside
Random duck sits on the dash. Sadly he hit the trash can shortly after.
The Niva came with these tools - bonus.
1.7L four cylinder with fuel injection using GM parts.
I figured out how to out the rear hatch - there is a tiny lever behind the driver's seat. Struts don't hold it up anymore.
Back was so full of crap I neglected to notice the rear seat was missing. Belts are there though.
The interior after a quick clean. I've got quite a few interior panels that where tossed in the rear. Not sure if I have all. The heater area was hacked when someone stole the steoro so I'll need to source that at some point. I do have the driver's side kick panel to cover that mess.

there is no better way to get free publicity for your brand new strip club than to get a bunch of religious people to stand out front with signs. it also works well for video stores with an "adult" section and bars where metal bands play.
