I want to use the Ryobi batteries instead of having another charger and batteries to pack when going racing. Which is why I like the battery powered tools vs air.
I have the Ryobi 1/2 impact, which I use, but it isn't a ratchet that you can manual operate, it is a pistol grip thingy.
Will they get in the way sticking out like the pic shows? Given an air ratchet has a big air hose out the back, a smallish cord seems not a big deal, but if you can avoid it so much the better.

can you just wire it up to a car 12v battery ?
They've certainly come a long way in recent years. Cordless ratchet straps still have a ways to go yet, I still wouldn't recommend them.
