Definately retro. These are on an older 911, but obviously not original. I also think I've seen them a Volvo P1800.

Your help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

They look similar to Merc CLK wheels but more holes.

In reply to EvanB: Yeah, but its the knock off that makes me think they me be an older wheel. Definately unusual.

In reply to TR8owner: Not a true knock-off. That is what I've heard called a spinner. Wheel uses regular lugnuts, the spinner is like a hubcap. Just for the knock-off appearance.

Have no idea what the wheel is though.

Maybe Hands? Seriously, that was a wheel brand back in the day.

No offense intended....these threads just send me off into "full-bonzai-search-mode." Ask Evan...

*EDIT....look somewhat like the Sunbeam Tiger LAT wheels...searching...searching...

Looks like I figured it out with a google search. Jack McAffee wheels and are quite collectible unless they are the later clone.

Looks like you got it, here is a picture of the Hands wheel.

They look like old Rudges- but Rudges had some sort of bolt setup behind the knockoff..... and those appear to be 1 piece cast and have spinner caps. ARGH.

Those McAfee wheels were a fairly common upgrade in the sixties for those who could afford alloys. There were quite a few of them found on Corvairs, including the Fitch Sprint and the Fitch Pheonix.

The two cars I can think of seeing that style of aftermarket wheel on the most often are 4 lug aircooled VW's and Datsun 720 pickups.

Thinking along the lines of Volkswagens I went to the samba and found this

Looks like if they are Dan Gurney wheels it will be stamped into the backs of them, spigot or no.

^^^ Yes, Dan Gurney wheels.

There was a Porsche 996 racer at the Perry Ga swapmeet 2 weeks ago with a set for a VW/912 for $80 obo and no takers.
