Might have the opportunity to buy a Honda Passport, not sure of the year, but newer that 2010. Anyway, how reliable are these? Anything I should look for or run from?

FYI: Honda passport= Isuzu Rodeo.

Acura SLX= Isuzu Trooper.

Neither are common in my area.

Edit:According to Wikipedia, Rodeo production ended with n '04, Trooper production ended in '02 or '05 (conflicting information)

If its a 2010 the first thing I would look for is a flux capacitor.

Look for rust, both frame and fluid lines.

That's what I was wondering about.

Awesome, robust trucks. Isuzus are very underrated by the mainstream, but well loved in the 'zu ciricles. I had a Rodeo that was surprisingly capable in nearly stock form. They are non interference motors (despite what you may hear) and very reliable.

In my opinion, Isuzu and (Suzuki) SUV's are the best all-round trucks in their class. Full frames, pretty heavy duty components, good drivetrains, few weak points.

Whose engine did they use? I was thinking it was a GM engine, which wouldn't be a plus.

They did suffer from frame rust so look closely.

GM LG6 was its predecessor. I've always heard these were GM based engines

Depends. Some early Rodeo's used the 3.1/3.4 family. Most later had the SOHC/DOHC 3.2 from Isuzu. Early engines had haed gasket issues. Parts from Honda are almost impossible to source and when they're available require first born rights along with a second mortgage.
