I... I didn't even know this was a thing!
I thought they had the Z-verts and the weird clown shoe Z-hatches.
The million dollar question is if I'll fit inside or not, hmm

In reply to SnowMongoose:
I'm 6 foot with a 32 inch inseam, and I fit with a helmet on, though just barely. Bigger inside than a Miata, by some amount, anyway.
Mine is the non-M 3 liter. Still an absolute blast on the track.
Crap, that probably makes it a no-go.
Almost didn't fit in my NA even after foamectomy and rear-hump removal, and I've got 3 inches on you.
Depends on how much you carry in your legs versus torso-- I've got short legs and long torso.
It is definitely bigger inside than a 280Z.
Test drove this today.
Surprisingly, I fit!
Also drove a 2012 Lancer Evo (also fit) and a 2011 Sti (fit well even).
That M3 is cleaaaaaaaaan, too bad it's got a sunroof.
Can't go wrong with an S54, M3 is the easy button but the Z variants are quirky and more rare. I'd rather deal with BMW headaches and get an S54 than deal with Evo/STI headaches and have a chintzy Japanese car for a daily driver.
The Evo X just doesn't quite add up IMO for either a street car or a track car, too crappy and Mitsubishi for a daily driver that costs what it does and too porky and complex for a track car.
STI all have EJ25, F that noise. I want to like Subarus, I live in Wisconsin and I'm surrounded by them and even owned a 2004 Forester XT that popped a motor on the stock tune with no mods, on 93 octane, with like 80K miles on the clock. I know people have great experiences with them but the number of engine failures both in stock form and lightly modded just bothers me, its like an FD3S in that the engine can do great if you make reliability mods. Sorry, I want cars to come optimized for reliability, emissions, mileage, and NVH from the factory and then if I choose to mess with things I can worry about potentially impacting reliability. I would probably get a 2015+ WRX if forced to buy a Subaru, the FA20 seems promising and I really hope we get an STI with it soon. The JDM STI has had a 2.0L high rev twin scroll motor forever and we keep getting the EJ25 that has a worse powerband than the 2.0L 4G63/4B11.
You still need to drive a C5 Corvette. With Sparcos a 6'10" driver will fit and be able to see (based on clearance beyond a 6'7" friend).

If 335 might be a good answer 135i is a better answer.
However IDK how OP feels about LSDless cars.
In regards to the C5, I sat in one on Sunday, was definitely pretty close to the roll bar even sans helmet.
Granted, stock seat (and a hatch rather than FRC if that makes a difference), but yeah.
OP would definitely prefer a limited slip, level of need varies car to car.
Certainly (imo) equates to more fun as a DD even if the difference on course is minor
Co-drove a C5 (hatch) today, sorta fit in it but not really.
Driving to Vancouver (just across the line from me) to test drive an 08 Lancer Evo tomorrow.
Both exchange rates work in my favor
(65k km = 40k miles, 25k CAD = 19k USD before import taxes/fees)
Car looks clean and is at a Mitsu dealer, certainly a better prospect than any of the hoopties for sale on this side of the line around here.
And, as a sedan, offers more head room off the bat plus more room to monkey with seat adjustment.
(plus I test drove an Evo X MR on a whim the other day, wasn't a huge fan of the paddle shifters but did like how everything else felt and fit.)
I may have bought the Evo mentioned in my previous post.
Nah, I totally bought the Evo mentioned in my previous post.
BS for the foreseeable future, in the mean time just marvelling at a bunch of automotive firsts for me:
Keyless entry, first car (well) under 120k miles, nothing I 'need' to fix/upgrade, useful amount of headroom, first time buying from a dealer, first time importing a vehicle, first time owning a nice car... yeah, good times.
Oh, the factory Recaros, yeah, good times.
She has more doors than I was planning, but she's also newer.
She's not as 'sexy' as say the BMW but that's fine.
Bonus points: I don't know anyone else with an Evo.

Bought a '09 335i X-Drive w/ Sport Package a few weeks ago and love it. Not sure how it would compare against the rest of the cars on the considering list tho. Not an M, Vette or Coyote killer by any means.
What I do know is the 335i is w/ in a couple/ few hundred pounds of my '05 S197 5-speed, equal factory advertised horsepower @300, stock 0-60 times w/ in 0.10 sec. Although not tested yet, I feel the 335i will beat the S197 outta the hole, less a Mustang holeshot, 1st gear is just too short. The 335i pulls smooth and hard w/ no lag, my gut tells me it could take the S197 to 100 mph... but we'll see. Claims are the 335i will take up to 15 pounds boost w/ the stock engine. Factory boost is 8.8 pounds. Dinan has tuner kits up to 100 hp gain and total 429 lb. ft.... and there's about your M. Not that I need to go there but there are milder tunes available.
... and it does it all w/ class.
