Why?
Drop in a 350 small block and go racing.

Assuming that no suspension arms or bushings or other related suspension components attention. Honestly parting out a 928 and listing individual parts on pca.org to fund the car to be built, or the travel fund, would, in my opinion, be a better plan.
In reply to captdownshift:
I've built about 8 different Challenge car suspensions. I never once used an off-the-shelf component for any of them. (And the last few years my cars have been top autocross contenders).
Suspension for the Challenge does not need to be expensive for any car.
Would there be issues with the school district with using a go fund me? What would happen to any excess funds?
In reply to Brett_Murphy:
It should be ok because the school is funding 0% of the project and is even being recalcitrant about letting us put the school name on the car. Because "carbon/sesto" and I think this will be so beneficial to our students, we are finding ithe project ourselves. If we went the "go fund yourself" route and there was extra, could we simply give back what we didn't need? I don't know how those things really work.
Use any "extra" for next year! With travel expenses and everything, what are people spending to do this whole thing?
I think for the kids, it will likely be the most positive thing that's ever happened to them in a lot of cases. These are kids that have had lives we can't even imagine. They desperately need positivity and success in their lives. They need to have things to be passionate about that are productive. They need to be shown experiences that are exciting and positive at the same time. I think these type of projects are perfect for them. Also, we need to show them that racing is not what happens in fast and furious movies.

Agreed. I will chip in some money and am content that you will use it for great things. I certainly don't want a refund if you're particularly frugal and end up with left over funds.
