Challenge for the Challenge?

Are we allowed to challenge our competitors at the Challenge? I think everyone knows Andy and I will be going at each other in our Q45s but I want to call out the Bolus & Snopes Crew for a heads up drag race. Let's see if that C4 can beat a Q45.

There will be an award for Aristocrats again this year. That will get you a grudge match with the Q45s.
The Corvette is not an Aristocrat. It's more of a gold chain thing rather than silver spoon.

The Q45s will be tough.
I think Stampie's gear swap will be awesome.

I'll have you know yesterday while returning from a 200-mile round-trip to visit 18 wheeler shop for alignment, on the way home I stopped at a country store. The car was nasty Kama I was nasty, yet a young black guy stopped me and asked me if I wanted to buy some gold chain. Told him that wasn't my style but I appreciated the sentiment. He was seriously trying to sell me gold chains.

And that is mot a made up story.... really happened!. LOL

I actually think you'll be more competition than that C4. I think I have the edge with the differential swap.

On the differential swap ... 2002 Infiniti Q45 (Google search) has an open diff 2.70 gears with this style input flange.

The unicorn limited slip differential that may work as a direct swap is the 2008 Infiniti G35X with the optional limited slip. Yea your right, not going to find one of those. That's best I can tell looking at pictures.

What we did was take a 2004 G35 manual trans LSD and pull the input flange off and put our 2002 Q45 input flange on it. Don't put it on with an impact (ask me how I know). It's supposed to be 150 ft lbs ish.

From my research I think the same years G35 and 350z LSDs will work. The autos came with 3.357 gears and the manuals with 3.538 gears.

To perm disable traction control unplug the yaw sensor under the center console directly behind the shifter.

Oh and I'm sure I'll beat all of you above in the 1/4 mile.

Running against someone in the drags is as easy as telling the Gainesville Raceway staff who you want to run against. It helps to be queued up near each other, obviously, but it's completely doable.

I want a piece of the action. The trans am should be in the 13's without the nitrous. Hopefully a 12 with it.

Probably. I'm not afraid to line up next to you and find out... it shouldn't be too hard to find you since that model is overdone, tired and just plain played out at this point. I mean it is no miata, but is quickly (ha!) turning into boring (snore) choice #2...

Lol tb but I'm the first to run a 3rd gen and one that someone else here decided they weren't good enough to build.

Pimpm3 I'm going to wait until Wednesday to weigh it and guess at theoretical times. But I hope to give you a run at least.
