With the price of scrap metal so high, and my desire to store stuff diminishing, I was making a pile to haul to the scrapyard. In the pile: One very crusty MGB shell sans motor and interior. One Ford 302 with trany from an LTD 2 Kirkey seats and harnesess assorted scrap sheet metal.

a pile of MGB panels too good to scrap but of no use.

So you can see what this is adding up to...A challenge car for next year! What is the deal with valuing stuff you already own? This is stuff that has migrated into my garage over the last 30 years of playing with cars and an inability to turn down free stuff!

You assign fair market value to the parts. (FMV)

If they qualify as nothing more than scrap, I'd use scrap prices.

Document prices selling on E-bay, or another source.

Ask this board- they've always got an opinion.
