Another question, I picked up an oil drain line kit for my Miata 2 years ago. It was a prototype kit and if I tested it out they would refund my money. Since it was offered on a public forum to everyone does this make the oil drain line kit free or do I have to charge fair market value? I do have a copy of the refund from Tuner Toys if proof is needed.

Since their free offer was a limited quantity with strings attached (photos and product review) I'd say you need to charge FMV.

i disagree with both of Tom's reasons. first, lots of things are offered as free on this board and in other places that are of limited quantity -- a set of tires is probably the most common example. second, what's the FMV of photos and a product review written by a non-professional product reviewer?
I agree with Patrick. It was a review on the intertubes..which is worth less than the electrons that were disturbed in its making.
Is Nitrous (the gas) accountable? Just wondering because fuel, oil etc are not.

i would say "Not", because it is consumed during the operation of the vehicle, ie it is not a permanent part of the car.
if GRM does not agree, then calculate how much spray you use on a single pass and only include that amount in your budget, since you only turn in one time slip you are only using one pass of nitrous to record that time.
