Ozark International had their first enduro last weekend. I watched a bit on YT but was wondering if there was any reaction to the circuit/faciliities in the Champcar community...?

Saw a Facebook post that seemed to imply there was part of the track where fast cars might have caught some air.
Placeholder for when I get more time...
I just Raced in the champcar championship there. Finished 5th overall in the championship. I gots some insights...
Apparently for the Porsche sprint races last month due to the short curved front straight all the race starts were single file. There was to be Sro races this year this year with gt3 GT4 etc classes but those have been cancelled and moved to another track. Safety concerns again.
Okay, here goes....
The facilities are... fine. Nothing is level. Your car will roll away from you without wheel chocks or an emergency brake. The garages are flat and have electricity and a fairly good size bathroom.
Outside of the garage, most of the bathrooms are regular port a potties.
There is no power on pitlane.
Pitlane is curved, and undulating. Must have an e brake or wheel chock when pitting!
The start finish line is on a corner that has a LOT of banking and you can go flat out through it in a champcar (barely). It is a bit bumpy and really grabs your attention.
It seems to me that if there were a bad enough incident near the start finish line that a car or parts could make it into pit lane at a fairly high rate of speed.
The track itself is all blind corners and off camber. It is a hoot to drive.
I imagine in a spec type series, passing would be rather difficult. Lots of places that there is only one optimal line.
I really enjoyed the track. However, there is not a lot of room for errors. If you go off track, your chance of hitting concrete is fairly high. They should probably extend some of the tire walls a bit further.
If I was closer, I would go back! That being said, about an 18 hour drive means that I probably won't get a chance to.
You'll need to log in to post.
